2001 - The last meeting held at the Houston Ave. location was on March 8, 2001. The membership of Mickey Fuller now needed a temporary place to hold lodge until a new permanent location could be obtained. The Worshipful Master and members of
Lizella Lodge No. 663 at Lizella, GA graciously responded and allowed Mickey Fuller Lodge to meet in their lodge facility. Our first meeting at the Lizella Lodge building was held on March 22, 2001. Mickey Fuller Lodge continued to meet in the Lizella facility for approximately 2 ½ years while desperately seeking a permanent location.
2002 - In August of 2002, after having considered leasing space in the Scottish Rite building on Vineville Ave. in Macon, Ga. (as well as other options), Brother Ken Asbury, who lived in Byron, Ga. offered to donate the lodge a land lot that he and his wife Sharron owned in Byron, for the purpose of constructing a new Lodge on the site. Mickey Fuller Lodge met, considered and accepted Brother Ken’s most generous offer.
2003 - Ground-breaking ceremonies were held on the donated site located at 106 Gralan Dr. on January 11, 2003. MW Brother Carl W. Dohn, PGM represented the Grand Lodge at the groundbreaking ceremony. Over the next seven months, Brother Wirt W. Durdin served chairman of the building committee during the construction phase. Brother Durdin and the members of Mickey Fuller Lodge worked diligently to complete and furnish the new building. On July the 26, 2003, the new lodge building was dedicated and cornerstone ceremony held with MW Bobby B. Simmons, GM presiding accompanied by other grand lodge officers.
The first regular communication was held in the new Lodge building on September 11, 2003 with Brother Larry Spires, serving as worshipful master that year. Mickey Fuller Lodge has since continued to hold regular communications at this location with outstanding cooperation from the Byron community where the lodge has proven to be a very good neighbor.
2006 - The members of Mickey Fuller Lodge are most grateful to Brother Ken Asbury and his wife Sharron, for donating the land, and to the members of Mickey Fuller Lodge, who worked diligently both on construction and fund raising activities. The funds needed to pay off all amounts owed on the new lodge building as well to acquire an additional adjacent lot were raised soon after occupation of the new facility. The lodge became debt free on November 9, 2006.
Present - Mickey Fuller Lodge #720 F&AM graciously and humbly acknowledges the divine providence of the Grand Architect of the Universe as the lodge enters its 58th year as a chartered lodge working under the jurisdiction of the MW Grand Lodge of the state of Georgia.
